Banana Bread (with Walnuts)

I love bananas and I love baking, so what a better way to combine both of them than baking a banana bread?

The measurements below are for a small cake (two people, four to six slices), so if you are planning on baking for more people, just adjust the measurements.

To make this happen, you will need the following ingredients:
  • 40 grams of melted butter
  • 1 banana
  • 60 grams of flour
  • 50 grams of brown sugar
  • 1 packet (7.5 grams) of baking powder (levure chimique)
  • 1 packet (7.5 grams) of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of brown spiced rum (optional)
  • A handful of walnuts (optional)

Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
Baking time: 45 minutes

To start, pre-heat your oven at 150 C (345 F).

In a saucepan, melt your butter.

In a plate, crush your banana.

In a bowl, add the flour, the brown sugar, the melted butter, the baking powder, the vanilla flavored sugar, the egg, and the rum and mix them together.

Once the mix is smooth, add the crushed banana into the mix.

And finally add the walnuts to the batter and mix.

Grease your mould.

Pour your batter into a baking mould ...

... and bake it for about 45 minutes. Poke the cake with the tip of a knife to check if it is baked ...

And here's the result!

Enjoy ... once the cake has cooled down with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some chocolate or caramel syrup.
